Children can learn all about toilet training and other important issues with Channel 5's favourite seven-foot bear and his colourful muppet friends in Bear in the Big Blue House-Potty Time with Bear. Produced by the Jim Henson Company, this video contains two fun-packed 24-minute episodes aimed at two to five year olds. The first episode "When You've Got To Go" was originally broadcast on the Disney Channel in 1999 to rave reviews. It deals sensitively with the subject of toilet training, with Bear gently guiding his friends through all the fears raised by using the potty or toilet. Many topics are covered including good hygiene, respect for privacy, recognising the call of nature, accidents and the importance of seeing toilet use as a natural part of growing up. The second episode, "Call It a Day", slows everything down, emphasising the necessity of a good night's sleep. Bear is the perfect host throughout, drawing viewers into his world by sniffing up close to the camera and claiming he can smell his scrumptious young audience. He is kind, patient and gentle to his friends, making him an ideal carer and teacher. Upbeat songs reiterate the main themes. Many are funny and complement the two regular favourites "Welcome to the Blue House" and "The Goodbye Song". [+]

When the circus comes to town, the hunchback becomes enchanted by magician's assistant, Madellaine (Jennifer Love Hewitt), but the vain Sarousch (Michael McKean) is also a thief with an eye for the cathedral's jewelled bell. He forces Madellaine to woo Quasi while he carries out the theft. Will he get away with it? Will Madellaine learn to see the inner Quasi? And will Quasi be able to trust again when he learns of her deception? Barbie as Rapunzel is an 80-minute video that will thrill children aged three to eight, following on from the success of Barbie in the Nutcracker. Barbie may have started life as a doll in the 1950s, but these days she's also making her name as a computer-animated film star. In a modern twist on the classic fairy tale, Barbie stars as Rapunzel-a courageous and imaginative princess who is locked away in a tower by the evil witch Gothel. With help from her friends (Penelope the cute purple dragon and Hobie the rabbit) and through the power of her own creative energies, she paints her way out of the tower to find freedom, truth and love. The video is visually impressive with dark and light colours used effectively to emphasise good and evil, allowing Barbie to be surrounded by her favourite soft pinks and purples. The well-known actress Angelica Huston is memorable as the vocal talent behind the unbalanced and scary Gothel. Excellent sound effects greatly enhance the film and Dvorak's New World Symphony played by the London Symphony Orchestra makes a pleasant change from films' current dependence on pop hits. Hugo the mighty dragon, Otto the nasty ferret and the sword fight between the feuding kings will hold the attention of those brothers of Barbie fans who are less than enthusiastic about watching this film, but essentially this is a little girl's film and the outrageously pink castle, the magical fashion show before the masked ball and the fairytale wedding will make it a firm favourite for its intended audience. -Tracey Hogan.

Three-dimensional special effects launch us into a topsy-turvy world of battling robots, souped-up motorcycle races, frogs on pogo-sticks, surfing on hot lava, and much, much more. Review Fimbles - Get The Fimbling Feeling [2002] / 2 Entertain Video:

When The Fimbles arrived on kids TV in 2002, it unfairly drew comparison with The Teletubbies. Beyond the furry man-sized suits, there's actually a lot more going for the show. It's the perfect successor in many ways, featuring just a few more characters and situations to appeal to children beginning to form and follow words. Within each episode, something is found by one of the three Fimbles (Fimbo, Florrie or baby Pom) who populate the Purple Meadow. Near the Tinkling Tree, they experience the excitement (Fimbling Feeling) of discovering something new and eagerly share it with their friends. This allows for the soothing tones of Roly Mo to relax everyone with a story tailored to the found object. More often than not, the group is joined by the fluffy Mummy and egg family of Bessie and Ribble, whose wise observations always lead to a safety warning or two. The show's real star is left to last: the irrepressible Rockit the frog bounces all over the place causing chaos and hilarity simultaneously. As a format, Fimbles is familiar enough for the kids to know what favourite bit to look forward to. It's also significantly different enough to distance itself from any previous show. [+]
