Review The Tweenies: The Enchanted Toy Shop / 2 Entertain Video:Join the BBC's "fab-a-rooney" foursome in their 95-minute fun-packed Christmas video Tweenies-Enchanted Toyshop. The toyshop is a magical dolls house which links the five episodes. The Tweenies individually enter the shop via their imagination. They shrink and then see the toy of their dreams come alive. Fizz befriends and sings with Penny the Pop Princess, Jake helps Jangles the Clown have faith in himself, Milo meets a true hero in The Little Blue Plane and Bella's aspirations are realised when she directs and stars alongside thespian mice in a theatre. The final episode goes inside the shop once more as Father Christmas wraps these very special presents on Christmas Eve. The video is visually stimulating throughout, with clever interaction between the Tweenies and the computer-generated shop and toys: Milo, looping the loop in his plane is not to be missed. Several themes run through the video, including the ideas that the imagination is a door to a fantastic new world, that appearances are deceptive and that one special toy at Christmas is all a child really needs. The pace is lively with the first four episodes kicking off with action songs including "Five Little Snowmen" (Doodles the dog is the fifth snowman) and "We Wish You a Merry Christmas". The pace purposely slows in the last episode with a charming performance of "Starlight". [+]Children will find the video amusing, particularly Jake's spoonerisms, and parents will appreciate humorous references to the adult world including a Woody Allen clown and an excellent pastiche of Abba. This is a sophisticated and colourful video that will captivate the under fives and entertain everyone throughout the Christmas period. -Tracey Hogan.

Review Fimbles - Tippity Toppity Games To Play [2002] / 2 Entertain Video:When The Fimbles arrived on kids TV in 2002, it unfairly drew comparison with The Teletubbies. Beyond the furry man-sized suits, there's actually a lot more going for the show. It's the perfect successor in many ways, featuring just a few more characters and situations to appeal to children beginning to form and follow words. Within each episode, something is found by one of the three Fimbles (Fimbo, Florrie or baby Pom) who populate the Purple Meadow. Near the Tinkling Tree, they experience the excitement (Fimbling Feeling) of discovering something new and eagerly share it with their friends. This allows for the soothing tones of Roly Mo to relax everyone with a story tailored to the found object. More often than not, the group is joined by the fluffy Mummy and egg family of Bessie and Ribble, whose wise observations always lead to a safety warning or two. The show's real star is left to last: the irrepressible Rockit the frog bounces all over the place causing chaos and hilarity simultaneously. As a format, Fimbles is familiar enough for the kids to know what favourite bit to look forward to. It's also significantly different enough to distance itself from any previous show. [+]-Paul Tonks.

Review Teletubbies - Dance With The Teletubbies / 2 Entertain Video:The British countryside has seen few raves like this one-our favourite Teletubbies are shown dancing through Teletubby Land with a few of their friends and, of course, their many rabbits. The "Stepping and Standing Dance" leads things off, followed by the "Walking Dance", "Running Away Dance", "Splashing Dance", and so forth (thankfully, we're spared from "Riverdance"). Of course, all this dancing-and even some clips of real children performing a few jigs-can wear a little thin on the patience of any child or parent. While younger children may want to perform some of the moves themselves (the "Tip Toe Dance" looks semi-appealing), everyone else risks becoming bored. The Teletubbies work best when, just like the typical preschooler, they all act differently, performing unique tasks (check out the effective Here Come the Teletubbies). On this video, they're all line dancing. There is some genuine weirdness for more mature Tubby aficionados: a vacuum cleaner starts dancing and a computer-animated bear does a convincing Grateful Dead-inspired number.
